
1. Entry is open to licensed on-premise venues in Australia. Entrant participants must be over 18 years of age and submit the completed Entry Form, including payment details, plus 1x copy of each of the menu and wine list (collated) by 17.00 on 28 March 2008.
2. The competition commences at 9.00 on 5 February 2008 and closes at 17:00 on 28 March 2008 ("Entry Period").
3. There are seven Category Awards and four Supplementary Awards available to be won. Entrants may only enter one of the Category Awards, but can enter one or more of the Supplementary Awards.
4. A panel of 12 judges from Australia and overseas, related to the wine, food and hospitality industries will select the winners of all Awards. Judging will take place between 3 March 2008 and 18 April. Results of the judging will be published in the August/September 2008 issue of Gourmet Traveller WINE and also online at www.winelistoftheyear.com.au on 4 August 2008. Finalists will be notified by email on or by 21 April 2008 and presented with their Awards at a cocktail function on 4 August 2008.
5. Entries not completed in accordance with these conditions or entries received later than 17:00 on 28 March 2008 can not be accepted. The judges decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications.
6. This competition is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. All entries will be judged individually on their merits based on content, balance, suitability, presentation and pricing. There will be two rounds of judging. Each entry will be judged by at least two members of the judging panel. The Australian Wine List of the Year Award will be decided by an Australian and international panel of judges.
7. There will be a National Award winner in each of the seven Category Awards in this competition. The highest point scoring entrants in each state and territory will also receive a prize. A final round of judging on the top five highest point scoring entrants (across all categories) will determine the winner of the Australian Wine List of the Year Award.
8. The winner of the Australian Wine List of the Year Award will receive two return economy airline tickets to their choice of European capital city, a specially engraved champagne cooler, and additional publicity in Australian publications,. Within the winner's private holiday arrangements and according to their time and interest, introductions can be arranged for private visits and tastings at some of the world's most famous wine and spirit houses. These may include Champagne's Bollinger and Ayala, Cognac's Delamain, Burgundy's Joseph Drouhin, Rhone's Paul Jaboulet Aine and Scotland's Teacher's Whisky and Ardmore Single Malt Total RRP value is $5,000.
9. The winner of each National Award, state and territory award and Supplementary Award will win a specially engraved champagne cooler (RRP $250).
10. All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winner of the Australian Wine List of the Year Award are responsible for any expenses incurred in Australia in getting to and from the international departure point in Australia. Gourmet Traveller WINE/Fine Wine Partners take no responsibility for insurance for travel, luggage, health and accident, travellers cheques, passports, visas, taxes, personal expenses, meals, transport and accommodation not specified.
11. Prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. In the event that any prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
12. The Promoter reserves the right to request any verification or other details of winners relevant to entry into or participation in this promotion. Verification is at the discretion of the Promoter, whose decision is final.
13. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered (even if caused by negligence) as a result of accepting and/or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
14. Entrants confirm and promise that their entry is original and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
15. By participating, entrants agree that ownership of any intellectual property rights in their entry is assigned to the Promoter. The entrant agrees to sign any further documentation required by the Promoter to give effect to this assignment. To the extent permitted by applicable law, entrants unconditionally and irrevocably consent to any act or omission that would otherwise infringe any moral rights in any materials submitted as part of their entry and waive all moral rights in such materials.
16. Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event that they are a winner in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome).
17. Entries remain the property of the Promoter. Details from entries will be collected and used for the purposes of conducting this promotion (which may include disclosure to third parties for the purpose of processing and conducting the promotion) and for promotional purposes surrounding this promotion. By entering this promotion entrants consent to the use of their information as described and agree that the Promoter may use this information, or disclose it to other organisations that may use it, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment to the entrant.
